How does it work?

Essential oils have an immediate impact on our sense of smell, also known as "olfaction". When we inhale essential oils, olfactory receptor cells are stimulated and this message is transmitted to the emotional centre of the brain, or "limbic system". The limbic system is connected to areas of the brain linked to memory, breathing, and blood circulation, as well as the endocrine glands which regulate hormone levels in the body. The properties of the essential oil, the fragrance and its effects, determine how the systems are stimulated. 

Blends to Ease Anxiety

Blend 1
• 2 drops Bergamot
• 2 drops Clary Sage 
• 1 drop Frankincense

Blend 2
• 3 drops Sandalwood 
• 2 drops Bergamot

Blend 3
• 3 drops Lavender
• 2 drops Clary Sage

Blend 4
• 1 drop Rose 
• 1 drop Lavender
• 2 drops Mandarin 
• 1 drop Vetiver 

Select one of the essential oil for anxiety blends shown above. Then, choose which method you'd like to use the blend and follow the directions...

For example...

  • Diffuser

    Multiply your blend by 4 to obtain a total of 20 drops of your chosen blend. Add your oils to a dark colored glass bottle and mix well by rolling the bottle between your hands. Add the appropriate number of drops from your created blend to your diffuser by following the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Bath Oil

    Use a maximum of 8 drops. Run the bath. Add oils and close the door to stop vapours escaping. Relax for at least 10 minutes whilst breathing deeply. For a great moisturizing bath, add the essential oil to a tablespoon (15ml) of almond oil.
  • Candles 

    Light the candle and wait for the wax to melt. Add 1 – 2 drops to the warm wax. Bear in mind that essential oils are inflammable so be careful not to get the oil on the wick.

  • Room Sprays

    Use 4 drops per 300ml of warm water. Using a new plant sprayer, fill with warm, not boiling water. Then add the essential oils and shake before using. Spray in the air or on carpets and curtains, but avoid wooden furniture.
