Lavender Instead of Stitches
Lavender Essential Oil
A few weeks ago I managed to do some damage to my right index finger when I got it caught between a vice-grip spanner and a bath tap whilst attempting to be a plumber.
The gash ran from the base of my finger nail straight across the finger and it looked as though a few stitches were par for the course but I had other ideas as I firmly believe in the healing aspects of essential oils.
I immediately applied pressure on the wound with my thumb and, with a bit of difficulty, rode my bike straight home but stopped at the local café to pick up a few plasters. Once home I released the thumb pressure, applied 2 drops of Lavender oil and 2 plasters, which I left on till the following afternoon.
I then mixed 1 drop Lavender and 1 drop Geranium in a teaspoon, removed the plaster and rubbed the oils over the cut and put fresh plasters on. This technique I applied daily for 7 days and by the end of the week the skin was growing well back together, although the finger was still rather swollen, it was on the mend.
After 2 weeks the wound had grown closed completely and with no more swelling and no infection either. Three weeks later there is hardly even a scare where the cut was and all is back to normal.
This is however not the first time I have used this method to treat cuts caused when doing odd work around the house, a while back I cut the same finger on my left hand with a leather-man knife and although it was not as bad as my latest encounter, Lavender and Geranium did their same magic.
A true essential oil miracle……………………!!!
